Meta-owned Instagram is set to launch its own text-based app in June, competing with Twitter, testing it with influencers and creators for months, Bloomberg reported on Friday.
While the platform will be separate from Instagram, users will be able to connect their accounts as well as follow everyone they follow on Instagram on the soon to be launched-app.
The app will allow users to post texts of up to 500 characters, along with pictures, and is expected to be an opportunity for Twitter users who are looking for alternatives to the Elon Musk-owned social media platform.
