Insurance Companies Achieved EGP EGP 230.3 Mln Premiums In Oct. 2012

The Egyptian Financial Supervisory Authority (EFSA) revealed that insurance companies achieved premiums written of EGP 230.3 million last October, compared to EGP 234.2 million last September, with a retreat of 1.66%.

The number of non-life insurance policies accounted for 81.6% of the total number of insurance policies in October. The value of non-life insurance premiums accounted for 79.8% of the total value of premiums in October 2012.

The number of non-life insurance policies reached 217229 with premiums value of EGP 183.7 million last October, compared to 230353 insurance policies with premiums value of EGP 200.8 million in September 2012.

According to EFSA’s monthly report, compulsory motor insurance sector accounted for 73.2% and supplemental motor insurance sector accounted for 11.2% of the total number of insurance policies issued in October 2012.

The compulsory motor insurance sector accounted for 33.1% and supplemental motor insurance sector accounted for 18.9% of the total value of premiums collected in October.
