InterContinental Hotels Group Citystars Celebrates Earth Hour

On March 31, from 8:30 pm till 09:30 pm local time, Earth Hour returns when InterContinental Cairo Citystars, Holiday Inn Cairo Citystars and Staybridge Suites Cairo Citystars will celebrate it by dimming the lights throughout the hotels to mark Earth Hour asking the hotels’ guests to join in the cause and help make a statement for the state of the planet.

Earth Hour is a global event made possible by teams in 135 countries turning lights off locally. It is a global call to action to every individual, every business and every community throughout the world. It is a call to stand up, to take responsibility, to get involved and lead the way towards a sustainable future; it is being hailed as the biggest ever global movement. Hundreds of millions of people are expected to take part by switching off non-essential lighting for an hour. Cities from Las Vegas to Sydney, from Cape Town to Beijing will go dark for an hour.

Earth Hour, in close connection with Earth day on April 22, is an initiative aimed to raise awareness of the impact communities and individuals have on the environment and motivate the world to make changes in their daily lifestyle.
