Activists on social networking websites have called Egyptian fellows to switch their mobile phones off on Saturday 10 March 2012 in objection to the stamp tax imposed lately by all three mobile services operating companies.
Activists have selected the time of closing the telephones from 12 midnight to 11:30 pm on March 10th.
Mentioned in the initiative’s statement was: “They deducted 51 piaster form our credit and named it (stamp tax), so we are going to switch our phones off and name the initiative (Please Ask Me, Thank You) –named after the please call me service provided by three companies-. People have to shut their phone off in support to the Egyptian citizen who will not accept his theft anymore.”
