Iraq reports $69b in investments over 18m

Iraq announced a significant increase in investment volume, reaching $69 billion over 18 months. Haider Makiya, Chairman of the National Investment Commission (NIC), told a press conference on Friday.

Makiya revealed that the total investments achieved from January 2023 to June 2024 marked the highest in the Commission’s history.

Makiya highlighted several ongoing projects, including the Sustainable Baghdad Forests initiative. Spanning 700 dunums, this project aims to create one of Baghdad’s largest eco-friendly and residential developments, with investments valued at $1.5 billion.
