Maj. Gen. Tarek Saad, head of Tourism Development Authority, asserted that the authority seeks to assign some plots of land to construct Islamic tourist resorts in North Coast of Egypt, to be presented soon.
In statements to “Amwal Al Ghad”, Saad added that he met a number of MPs of Al Nour Party to discuss the idea of constructing companies for presenting these plots by bid or direct assignation. This is for reactivating the internal tourism.
The authority also studies assigning lands for constructing low income tourist resorts and to be presented soot to the investors. This is to allow some classes to enjoy such resorts, in addition, to reactivate the internal tourism in case of declining the external tourism due to possible future turmoil.
In Q2 of 2012, the authority will present about 28 million cubic meters in different regions, Red Sea and North Coast, for tourist investment; especially after the authority’s suspension of the process of presenting lands since 2008.
