Israel-Hamas truce to extend for two days – Qatar
As the initial four-day truce in Gaza is about to expire, the humanitarian pause is set to extend for two more days, as mediator Qatar stated on Monday.
“The State of Qatar announces that, as part of the ongoing mediation, an agreement has been reached to extend the humanitarian truce for an additional two days in the Gaza Strip” Majed Al Ansari, Qatari foreign ministry spokesman, said on X.
All of Egypt, the United States, and Qatar have been actively negotiating establishing and prolonging the truce between Israel and Hamas.
The truce resulted in the release of a total of 50 hostages of whom are: 17 Thais, one Filipino and one dual Russian-Israeli.
In return, 150 Palestinian hostages were released. Moreover, humanitarian aid was allowed to enter Gaza.
