Several countries worldwide have begun to ease up travel restrictions on Egypt as in-country security improves. Italy has lifted the travel ban to Egypt’s Red Sea resorts in Hurghada, Marsa Alam, and Brnes alongside South Sinai’s resorts in Sharm el-Sheikh as well as Luxor and Aswan.
Egyptian Tourism Ministry spokeswoman Rasha al-Azaizy asserted that the country’s tourism sector is on the right track, referring to the fruitful cooperation between the ministries of tourism and foreign affairs in terms of holding intensive talks and contacts with worldwide official counterparts to ease up travel restrictions on Egypt.
Al-Azaizy further stressed the crucial role played by Egypt Tourism Authority (ETA) and the Egyptian tour operators abroad in order to lift the travel bans on Egypt and reactive the tourist movement which has been affected by the travel warnings issued to the recent unstable situation in Egypt following the ouster of Egyptian former president Mohamed Morsi.
