Japan PM vows support over US tariffs

Japanese Prime Minister Shigeru Ishiba acknowledged the increasing influence of US tariffs on Tuesday and promised extensive assistance for domestic industries.

“The effects are beginning to materialise, with some companies forecasting reduced earnings this fiscal year. Concerns are rising, particularly among small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs),” Ishiba emphasised at a government meeting.

He confirmed the government’s dedication to implementing the emergency response package, which includes subsidies for electricity and gas bills and support for SME financing.
