Japan’s consumer confidence index dips in Oct. ’24
Japan’s Consumer Confidence Index (CCI) declined slightly to 36.2 in October 2024, a 0.7-point decrease from the previous month, according to a report published by the Cabinet office on Wednesday.
The CCI sub-indices declined, with livelihood at 34.2 (down 0.2 points), income growth at 39.4 (down 0.7 points), employment at 41.6 (down 0.6 points), and willingness to buy durable goods at 29.7 (down 1.3 points).
This decline in consumer confidence indicates that Japanese consumers are becoming more cautious about their spending habits, potentially impacting economic recovery efforts.
