Japan’s unemployment rate declined to 2.5 per cent in June, government data revealed on Tuesday. This figure is lower than the economists’ median forecast of 2.6 per cent.
Separately, the labour ministry reported a slight decrease in the jobs-to-applicants ratio from 1.24 in May to 1.23 in June.
This ratio, which measures the number of job openings for every unemployed person, had been anticipated to remain steady at 1.24.
