Jordan’s tourism revenues increased by 59.4 percent to $3.456 billion during the first six months of 2023, according to the Central Bank of Jordan (CBJ) on Sunday.
The CBJ data said the increase is a result of increased tourist traffic in the Kingdom during the first half of 2023.
Jordan hosted around three million guests from January to June, with an increase of 60.2 percent compared to the same period last year, Petra news agency reported.
According to the data, during the first half of the year the number of overnight tourists increased to 2,491,700 guests, an increase of 54.4 percent in comparison to the same time last year.
Also during the first half of 2023, there were 534,100 single-day tourists up by 94 percent from last year.
The data also showed that tourism revenues reached around $630 million in June 2023, with an increase of 28.8 percent compared to the same month last year.
