Jurgen Klopp gives injury update on Egypt’s Mohamed Salah

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp confirmed that Egypt’s player Mohamed Salah is suffering from a minor ankle injury but believes he is fine and is expected to play on Saturday.

Salah picked up the injury after a horrendous tackle by Leicester City’s Hamza Choudhury, during their encounter at the start of October.

Due to the injury Salah had to miss-out on Egypt’s clash against Botswana during the international break and was left out of the squad when the Reds were held to a 1-1 draw against Manchester United at Old Trafford.

The 27-year-old has since made his return and scored two goals in his last two games against Genk and Tottenham respectively.

Now ahead of their clash against Aston Villa, Jurgen Klopp said the Egyptian is still suffering form a minor injury but should still play.

“He should be fine. He has had to do his individual stuff but he will be in training today [Friday],” said Klopp.

“I think it is really more annoying for him, not me, that the injury is a bit of fluid [in the ankle] and he has to deal with it. He gets it out and then has to come back out the team. It is not a ‘real’ injury like this but he should be fine,” he added.

Liverpool will be looking to continue their unbeaten run in the Premier League, when they visit Aston Villa on Saturday at 4:PM CLT.
