Kenya’s 3rd green bond oversubscribed

Kenya’s third green bond was oversubscribed, announced president of the African Development Bank Group (AfDB), Akinwumi Adesina on Monday during the media lunch at the AfDB’s annual meetings taking place in Sharm El-Sheikh.

According to Adesina, this move indicates “very strong investor confidence” in the country’s strategy for green growth and economy growth.

Kenya’s green bond projects seeks to increase the take-up of green bonds as a tool for the country to tap into international and domestic capital markets to be able to finance green projects.
