Egypt’s Minister of Agriculture and Land Reclamation, Alaa Farouk, on Thursday received a delegation from Kraft Heinz, led by the company’s Vice President, Patrick Sheridan, to discuss ways to enhance the company’s investments in Egypt, the Egyptian Cabinet reported.
During the meeting, Kraft Heinz shared its vision to transform Egypt into a major industrial and export hub serving the Middle East, Africa, and Europe.
The company invested $50 million over the past two years to expand its factory in the 6th of October Industrial Zone, doubling production capacity and increasing exports by 60 per cent. The expanded facility was inaugurated in September 2024.
Kraft Heinz executives expressed confidence in Egypt’s potential to become a hub for tomato cultivation by expanding existing contracts, focusing on sustainability and social responsibility, and contracting tomato crops for export to the European Union. They also announced their readiness to support farmers with climate-resilient seeds.
Minister Alaa Farouk affirmed Egypt’s commitment to supporting investors and welcomed foreign investments in agriculture.
