Kuwait’s Emir receives Egypt’s PM to discuss bilateral ties, regional issues
Kuwait’s Emir, Sheikh Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, received Egyptian Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly on Sunday at the Amiri Diwan (Bayan Palace) to discuss issues of mutual interest. The meeting was attended by Kuwait’s Prime Minister, Sheikh Ahmad Abdullah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, and Egypt’s Ambassador to Kuwait, Osama Shaltout.
Sheikh Mishal expressed his appreciation for Egypt’s historical role in supporting Kuwait across various fields, acknowledging the contributions of Egyptian experts to his country’s development. He also praised Egypt’s efforts in ensuring Kuwait’s security and stability, highlighting the enduring bond between the two nations.
The Kuwaiti Emir reiterated that Egypt had supported Kuwait since the early stages of its modern development, recalling the advice of Kuwaiti elders to maintain strong ties with Egypt. He affirmed that Kuwait would never forget Egypt’s past support and commended President Abdel Fattah El Sisi for the extensive urban development underway across Egypt.
Sheikh Mishal underscored the alignment of the two countries’ views on regional security and stability, emphasising that Egypt’s stability directly impacts Kuwait’s. He noted that all support Kuwait extends to Egypt ultimately serves the interests of both nations. The Emir also instructed his government to enhance cooperation with Egypt in key areas, including increasing Kuwaiti investments in Egypt.
Prime Minister Madbouly conveyed President Sisi’s greetings to the Emir and expressed gratitude for the warm reception. During the meeting, he handed over an official invitation from President Sisi for Sheikh Mishal to attend the Arab Summit, scheduled to take place in Cairo on March 4. The Kuwaiti Emir welcomed the invitation and expressed his eagerness to participate in the summit, which he described as being of critical importance.
The Egyptian Prime Minister reaffirmed Egypt’s commitment to welcoming and supporting Kuwaiti investments, stressing the government’s ongoing efforts to create a conducive business environment despite regional challenges. He also expressed deep appreciation for Kuwait’s longstanding support for Egypt and the personal commitment of the Kuwaiti Emir in this regard.
Prime Minister Madbouly extended his best wishes for Kuwait’s continued progress, security, and stability.
