Lawsuit Against Al Watan Newspaper

Dr Mohamed Abdel Aal filed a lawsuit before the Administrative Judiciary Court; calling for cancelling the license of the joint-stock company which issued Al Watan Newspaper.

Abdel Aal explained that he heads the Social Justice Party which had gotten a license from the Supreme Council of Journalism so as to establish a newspaper for the party under the name of “Al Watan Al Arabi” since 1993. Despite that, he surprised with the chairman of the Supreme Council of Journalism that issues a license for a joint-stock company to establish Al Watan newspaper. The problem is the Egyptian readers get confused with the two names of the newspapers. So the chairman of the Supreme Council of Journalism violated the law and the general system.

Abdel Aal, in his lawsuit, called for cancelling the license of Al Watan newspaper, as its continuity causes financial causalities for the party and the newspaper.
