Madinet Masr, Egypt’s giant real estate developer, and Elmarakby Steel, an Egyptian steel manufacturer, signed on Tuesday a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to use environment-friendly steel rebars to promote environmental sustainability.
According to the statement submitted to the Egyptian Exchange (EGX), the new agreement is aimed to develop a waste management plan for construction sites that keeps with the state’s initiatives to lower carbon emissions, reduce waste and enhance environmental and economical sustainability in the construction industry.
The agreement also comes in line with the growing global demand for for environmentally friendly and sustainable alternatives.
“We are committed to promoting sustainability in all aspects of our operations in the construction industry, and we believe that our partnership with Elmarakby Steel represents a remarkable step on the right path towards a more sustainable future for Egypt,” Abdallah Sallam, Madinet Masr CEO stated.
