Majid Al Futtaim’s 25th mall to be open in Abu Dhabi

Dubai-based Majid Al Futtaim will inaugurate My City Centre Masdar Mall, its first ever lifestyle destination in Abu Dhabi on April 24. The new mall will be the firm’s 25th shopping mall operating in the region.

The eco-friendly mall will feature more than 70 stores across 18,500 sq m of gross leasable area, including the opening of Carrefour Hypermarket’s 100th store in the UAE. From the construction phase to the finished mall, My City Centre Masdar employed resource- and energy-efficient procedures, which are integral to Majid Al Futtaim’s sustainability strategy.

The mall has achieved the Abu Dhabi’s Estidama Three Pearl rating for it and will continue to adopt sustainable practices, including plans to recycle most operational waste, energy-efficient escalators and efficiently designed shops.
