World’s major airlines cancelled their flights to Tel Aviv this weekend amid Hamas’ surprise large-scale attack against Israel on Saturday.
All of the American Airlines, Air France, Lufthansa, Emirates, Ryanair and Aegan Airlines canceled their trips to Tel Aviv’s Ben Gurion airport.
The Israeli airport authorities did not stop commercial air links with Eilat on the Red Sea.
“Given the current security situation in Tel Aviv, Lufthansa is cancelling all flights to and from Tel Aviv up until and including Monday,” a spokesman for the German carrier said.
He also said that the airline was “permanently monitoring the security situation in Israel.”
Air France halted Tel Aviv flights “until further notice”, while Air France-KLM group’s low-cost carrier Transavia cancelled a flight from Paris to Tel Aviv on Saturday.
