Malaysia’s leading index increased 5.2 percenti n July, driven by a surge in real imports of semiconductors, indicating a positive outlook for the country’s economy in the fourth quarter, Department of Statistics Malaysia (DOSM) reported.
The monthly data revealed a rebound of 1.1 percent in the leading index in July, following a decline of 0.4 percent in June.
The real imports of semiconductors contributed significantly to this growth, signalling a resurgence in the technology sector and related industries.
