Malaysia’s FDI net inflows hit RM51.5bn in ’24

Malaysia recorded a higher net inflow of foreign direct investment (FDI) in 2024, reaching RM51.5 billion, up from RM38.6 billion in 2023, according to official data published on Wednesday. The total FDI position stood at RM995.5 billion by the end of 2024, compared to RM924.0 billion the previous year.

Foreign companies operating in Malaysia generated RM99.8 billion in total income during 2024, up from RM88.4 billion in 2023, reflecting sustained investor confidence and robust economic performance.

The Services sector was the primary recipient of FDI, attracting a net inflow of RM39.4 billion, followed by the Manufacturing sector at RM9.1 billion, and Mining and Quarrying at RM5.3 billion.
