Malaysia’s inflation rate eased to 1.7 per cent in December 2024, with the consumer price index (CPI) reaching 133.4, up from 131.2 in December 2023, according to a report from the Department of Statistics Malaysia on Wednesday.
The moderation was attributed to slower price increases in several key categories, including Personal Care, Social Protection, and Miscellaneous Goods and Services (3.2 per cent); Recreation, Sport, and Culture (1.7 per cent).
