The indicators of Egyptian imports from Malta witnessed a 36.5 percent increase during the first half of 2016.
The total volume of Egypt’s imports from Malta recorded 4.7 billion Egyptian pounds (US$529.4 million) in January-June 2016 opposed to 3.4 billion pounds at the same period of 2015.
The monthly bulletin on foreign trade released by state’s statistics body Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics (CAPMAS) stated that Egypt’s imports from Malta soared by 409 percent in June 2016.
In June 2016, the Egyptian imports from Malta reached 2.4 billion pounds compared to 465.4 million pounds in June 2015.
The bulletin showed that Egypt’s plastics imports from Malta declined by 86.6 percent during the first half of 2016 to 2.6 million pounds from 19.9 million pounds at the same period of 2015.
Moreover, Maltese fuel exports to Egypt registered 4.66 billion pounds in January-June 2016 versus 3.1 billion pounds at the same period of 2015, making a 38.5 percent growth.
