Marriott International plans to expand investments in Egypt 

Marriott International said it plans to expand its investments in Egypt, developing new hotel and residential projects in the New Administrative Capital, Alamein, and the North Coast, during a high-level meeting with Egypt’s Investment Hassan El-Khatib on Tuesday.

The company currently operates 18 hotels and hospitality facilities in Egypt and has contracts to add 23 new hotels along with two additional establishments.

El-Khatib highlighted the government’s plan to double existing hotel capacity by encouraging both local and foreign investments, particularly in emerging city projects including the New Administrative Capital, New Alamein, and the North Coast, as well as in Red Sea destinations such as Hurghada and Ain Sokhna.

The minister emphasised ongoing efforts to simplify project licensing via a unified digital platform and provide tax and non-tax incentives for major projects in tourism, real estate, and services. He also reaffirmed Egypt’s commitment to strengthening the private sector, ensuring competitive neutrality, and developing legal and regulatory frameworks to protect foreign investments and improve transparency through integrated digital systems.
