Atef Abdel Latif of the Marsa Alam Investors Association has called on the government to project a positive image of the country abroad, showing that tourist destinations are safe.
The statement came after Poland issued a travel warning to the Red Sea resorts in Egypt.
“Other European countries may do the same,” Abdel Latif warned in a statement on Saturday. “Terrorist operations are only in North Sinai and are being dealt with.”
He suggested that the competent authorities invite European journalists to different destinations to see for themselves, adding that Egypt should look for tourists from other countries, such as Brazil, Argentina and Mexico.
