Minya Gov. clears way for afforestation project

Minya Governorate, Minya Sanitation and Drinking Water Company, and Eco Company – a subsidiary of the Egyptian-Kuwaiti Holding Company – have agreed to terminate a contract by mutual consent, allowing for the implementation of an afforestation project, as per a Cabinet statement on Tuesday.

This agreement, witnessed by the Minister of Local Development, Manal Awad, involves 2,500 feddans in the western desert hinterland of Minya, initially allocated for the afforestation project, according to the statement.

The minister emphasised the government’s commitment to resolving disputes between public entities and private sector companies amicably, seeking to avoid litigation where possible, the statement added.
