Molla meets heads of 4 US companies during CERAWeek energy forum
Petroleum Minister Tarek el Molla held talks with heads of four major US energy companies on the sidelines of his participation in the CERAWeek energy forum, currently in session in Houston City, US.
The Petroleum Ministry said the minister met with President of Africa & Latin America Exploration and Production at Chevron Corporation Clay Neff for talks on boosting petroleum cooperation.
The US official said the company is interested in pumping investments in the Red Sea area in light of the international tender announced by the Petroleum Ministry for exploration in this area.
Molla promised to provide an investment-magnet atmosphere to encourage international companies to invest in Egypt.
Molla also met with head of AxxonMobil Steve Greenless and discussed the company’s plans for Egypt within the coming period, especially as it will explore for petroleum in Egypt for the first time after winning a tender in northeastern Amriya area.
Molla welcomed the move, expecting it will have a great impact on the petroleum industry in Egypt.
The Egyptian minister also met with head of Schlumberger company that has been operating in Egypt for more than 80 years.
The two sides discussed the application of state-of-the-art technology in gas and petroleum activities and training human cadres in the petroleum sector.
Molla also met with Chief Executive of British Petroleum Co. Bob Dudley for talks on the launching of the second stage of the development and production of the gas project in western the Nile Delta.
Dudley expounded the accomplishments the US company has realized in the natural gas domain in Egypt.
