Egypt’s Ambassador to Germany Mohamed Hegazi announced a rise in the number of German tourists visiting Egypt during the first quarter of this year, reaching 208,887, compared with the same period last year.
The Egyptian diplomat said on Wednesday 14/4/2015 the number of tourists hit 92,500 in March.
The increase was due to Egypt’s successful participation in the Berlin International Bourse and particularly in the wake of the Egypt Economic Development Conference held in Sharm El Sheikh, he said, pointing out that the event has given a positive image on security and stability in Egypt.
Tourism Counselor Mohamed Gamal said tourism promotion campaigns will be launched through specialized companies.
The number of German tourists visiting Egypt exceeded 1.2 million in 2010 and the Egyptian embassy, in cooperation with the tourism office in Berlin seek to reach previous tourism rates.
