Moroccan singer arrested for sexual harassment for second time
Moroccan Singer Saad Lamjarred was arrested on Saturday in Saint-Tropez city in South France, due to his girlfriend’s complaint of sexual harassment, French Public Prosecution said.
Eyewitnesses reported that Lamjarred was under the influence of wine and recreational drugs when he physically fought his French girlfriend, who immediately went to the police center and filed a legal complaint.
Lamjarred was previously arrested in 2016, after 20 year-old French actress Laura Briol accused him of raping her in his hotel room.
The Moroccan singer was detained for 48 hours pending investigations, Public Prosecution added.
As the trial continued, Lamjarred was released and allowed to continue his music career as he awaited the court’s final judgement. The trial is still pending.
