Elon Musk, Tesla CEO, said that the company can make no new hires unless he approves them personally, according to his message that sent via email to all employees.
Musk asked executive to send him a list of hiring requests weekly, however, he also said that they should “think carefully” before submitting such requests, Reuters reported.
“No one can join Tesla, even as a contractor, until you receive my email approval” Musk said on an email on Monday. Last month, the company posted its lowest quarterly gross margin in two years, missing market estimates.
Musk is expected to address Tesla shareholders on Tuesday at the company’s annual meeting in the headquarters in Austin, Texas.
