Natural gas sector accounted for around 21 percent of Egypt’s last year economic growth, the country’s petroleum minister Tarek el-Molla said on Wednesday.
The sector has contributed by around 19 percent of Egypt’s gross domestic product (GDP) during 2019, the minister added in a conference in Cairo.
Investments in natural gas sector recorded around 1 trillion Egyptian pounds ($63.9 billion), enabling the country to achieve its self-sufficient in September 2018, he said.
