New archaeological discovery in Minya :Egypt Antiquities council

ِA new archaeological discovery was uncovered in Minya governorate, announced the secretary general of Egypt’s Supreme Council for Antiquities, Mustafa Waziri.

The discovery dates back to the era of the modern state in the Ghurayfah region of Tuna al Jabal, Waziri said in a press conference.

Amulets, stone coffins and jewelry inside the cemetery were unearthed, he stated adding that a wooden coffin with inscriptions of a woman called Nani was discovered, she was the singer of Atun gods. They also found another coffin of a priestess of the modern era.

Waziri noted that the most important discovery is a 15 meters long papyrus about the book of the dead which is in a good condition. It will be displayed at the Grand Egyptian Museum.
