Egypt’s Education Development Fund (EDF), affiliated to the Cabinet, signed a cooperation protocol with Nissan Egypt to support, qualify, and train students of the Egyptian-Japanese “KOSEN” institutes—one of EDF’s flagship projects aimed at preparing a highly skilled technological workforce aligned with international standards.
The partnership comes as part of a broader strategy to expand collaborations with major industrial and production institutions and implement Japan’s successful “learning through work” model in technical and technological education.
Under the agreement, Nissan Egypt will provide specialised training programmes at its factory for KOSEN students. These programmes will include both practical and theoretical components supervised by company experts.
The training will be tailored to meet students’ needs and market demands, enhancing graduates’ readiness for industrial work environments and supporting student research and post-graduation employment.
The KOSEN institutes are set to begin operations in the upcoming academic year, offering a five-year integrated curriculum following preparatory education. The model combines academic learning with hands-on training in industrial environments that replicate real-world factory conditions.
