No power or gas cuts for factories in Egypt – PM
Egypt’s government will maintain stable electricity and gas supplies to factories as it ramps up domestic energy production, Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouly said Tuesday.
During a press conference, Madbouly said the government has implemented a comprehensive plan to safeguard the national electricity grid and keep industrial activity uninterrupted. “There are no plans to cut electricity or halt gas supplies to factories,” he told reporters.
Madbouly said 2026 will see 106 new wells drilled, marking the largest wave of oil and gas exploration in recent years. The push aims to accelerate domestic production, reduce import reliance, and bolster energy security.
The measures are designed to support economic stability and reinforce investor confidence in Egypt, particularly amid regional and global energy challenges.
