Nokia, the global leader in mobile communications, concluded a road show across five different governorates in Egypt. These governorates included Cairo, Alexandria, Mansoura, Assuit, and Menia. The main aim of this road show was to help Java professionals and software developers enhance their knowledge of the Nokia Developers Kit, which was created specifically for the Series 40 range.
“We are highly committed to supporting the local developer’s community,” said Mostafa Shoukry, Head of EDX for North Africa and Levant “There is an incredible amount of talent amongst the younger generations, and this roadshow enabled us to communicate effectively with over 250 youth across the different governorates. It was evident that they all had a mobile development background and were thirsty for knowledge related to the latest Nokia updates, in addition to wanting to discover the various opportunities that the Nokia Store offers.”
Nokia demonstrated its commitment to the local developer’s community by providing Java developers with the knowledge and skills required to develop applications for the latest Nokia Smart Asha devices, and introducing them to innovative features that complete the latest Java SDK tool V2.0.
During the training, Nokia’s Team held training workshops that consisted of Technical Sessions and Labs to assist the developers. Moreover, throughout the first two days, Nokia challenged all participants with a competition, in which developers were asked to develop an application by the third and final day of the road show. The winner was decided based on the following three pillars: local relevance of the application, innovation, and the use of the new Nokia Touch UI.
“Nokia is committed to the Egyptian market and will continue investing in new solutions and services that benefit the population, while simultaneously pushing the frontiers of affordability for bringing the device price to level of the lowest-income consumers without compromising product quality.” Added Mostafa Shoukry
