Marko Ahtisaari -chief designer of the Finland-based handset maker- stated that Nokia Corp. is working hard to create its own tablet computer
Ahtisaari is spending a third of his working hours on developing the tablet.
As late as December, Nokia said it had no plans to offer its own tablet any time soon to compete with Apple Inc.’s iPad and other rivals’ products, as Dow Jones Newswires stated.
The comment came after French newspaper Les Echos cited Nokia’s top official in France, Paul Amsellem, as saying Nokia planned to have a tablet computer using Microsoft Corp.’s (MSFT) Windows 8 phone software ready by June 2012.
