Egypt’s telecom regulator, the National Telecommunication Regulatory Authority (NTRA) formed committee to issue recommendations on the free calls mobile internet applications next week, chief Hesham El Alaily said Wednesday. The committee will issue its recommendations on the free applications next week.
On the other hand, sources affirmed that the three mobile operators waiting for NTRA’s final decision as the legislative authority in local market.
NTRA affirmed previously that it seeks setting regulative rules for free calls internet applications which includes What’s App, Viper and other social networks, as a committee has been formed to study it socially, economically and security.
Mobile operators has demanded some regulations for the free calls usage, as they have been witnessing losses due to the free calls applications.
