Universally, the world’s reactors generated more than 2,500 terawatt hours of electricity for the sixth consecutive year, according to report released by the World Nuclear Association (WNA).
According to the new report Unit 3 of the UAE’s Barakah nuclear plant helped push the globe towards having 25 percent of its clean energy coming from atomic power in 2022.
Sama Leon, director general of WNA, said that the Russian-Ukrainian conflict calls the urgent requirements for rapid decarbonisation to tackle climate change effective.
The report also indicated that nuclear generation totalled 2,545 TWh in 2022, which is 100 TWh lower than the year before.
