Dr. Mohamed Omran – the Chairman of the Egyptian Exchange (EGX) – has met Tuesday morning with Piotr Puchta – the Polish Ambassador in Cairo. Omran and Puchta have tackled the means of ensuring mutual cooperation between the two countries. They have also discussed exchanging the technical expertise between the EGX and Warsaw Stock Exchange (WSE).
Omran has asserted that the EGX administration is willing to know more about all the technical systems and aspects of the WSE as well as of the Eastern Europe countries’ bourses.
“There are a lot of common denominators among Egypt, Poland and Eastern Europe countries in terms of the economic condition alongside the variables.” Omran added
The Polish Ambassador has expressed his country’s eagerness to deepen cooperation between the Egypt and Poland in areas of economy, and securities market in particular.
Elsewhere, the EGX chairman has also met with JP Morgan delegation on Tuesday so as to tackle means of reaching mutual cooperation for the purpose of upgrading the market or of attracting new investors to the Egyptian market which is recently witnessing a rising growth in terms of stock prices and of daily liquidity levels.
Omran has discussed with JP Morgan delegation the methods for attracting foreign firms so as to get EGX listing whether through the double-entry bookkeeping system, or getting listed in form of Egyptian Depository Receipts (EDRs).
