Only 15% of Israelis want Netanyahu to stay in power – poll

Only 15 percent of Israelis want Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to stay in office after the attacks on Gaza end, a poll published on Tuesday showed.

The poll was conducted by the Israel Democracy Institute (IDI), and showed that 56 percent of those questioned said continuing the attacks was the best way to bring the hostages back home.

Moreover, 24 percent thought a swap deal including the release of more Palestinian hostages would be best.

A mere 15 percent of the Israeli citizens taking the poll said that they want Netanyahu to be prime minister once the war is over.

The poll was conducted among 746 respondents between December 25-28, the IDI said.

Another IDI poll in December found that 69 percent of Israelis thought the elections should be held once the war ends.

The Israeli aggression on Gaza killed more than 22,000 innocent civilians.
