French telecommunications giant Orange SA (ORA.FR) said Wednesday it would buy Bharti Airtel’s operations in Burkina Faso and Sierra Leone.
Orange said it would pay 7.9 times the earnings, interest, depreciation and amortization generated by the two businesses for the year ending on March 31, 2016.
The acquisition is part of Orange’s push to expand internationally into fast-growing, developing markets, the company said. The French company is present in 20 African nations, it said.
