Pakistan’s expat remittances up in Sept. ’24
Pakistan received $2.8 billion in expatriates’ remittances in September 2024, marking a 29 per cent increase from the previous year, according to a statement published from the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) on Wednesday.
In the first quarter of the fiscal year 2024-2025 (Q1-FY25), total remittances inflows amounted to $8.8 billion, showing a significant 38.8 per cent rise compared to Q1-FY24, the report showed.
Remittances inflows in September were primarily from Saudi Arabia ($681.3 million), the United Arab Emirates ($560.3 million), the United Kingdom ($423.6 million), and the United States of America ($274.9 million).
