Panamanian vessels topped the list of the clients passing through Egypt’s Suez Canal in the past 11 months. The number of Panamanian vessels reached 2177 with tonnages estimated at 132.631 million tonnes at the end of November 2015.
According to the traffic statistics released Saturday by Suez Canal Authority (SCA), the number of Panamanian vessels in January-November 2015 has dropped by 7.3 percent as well as their tonnages which declined by 1.6 percent a year earlier.
Liberia came the second at the list of Suez Canal’s clients during the first eleven months of 2015 with 2080 vessels whose tonnages are estimated at 113.781 million tonnes, the statistics showed.
Meanwhile, the number of Liberian vessels in January-November 2015 decreased by 8.9 percent as well as their tonnages that fell by 10.9 percent during the same period of 2014.
Following Liberia, the vessels of Marshall Islands recorded 1801 with tonnages estimated at 111.625 million at the end of November 2015, marking 24 % increase in the number of passed vessels and 24 percent growth in their tonnages in comparison to the same period of 2014.
