The Egyptian parliament granted state’s Industrial Development Authority (IDA) the full authority to supervise land plots dedicated for industrial purposes.
Industry Minister Tarek Qabil asserted Wednesday that parliament’s approval would participate in providing more land plots and facilitating procedures of allocating lands.
IDA is currently enumerating all land plots dedicated for industrial activities so as to meet investors’ needs whether to establish new industrial projects or to expand their existent ones, the minister noted.
Hereby the approval, the IDA would regain its role to formulate general policies and plans necessary for upgrading industrial zones, allocate plots for industrial purposes, and draw up rules regulating the use of industrial areas, Qabil pointed out.
