Paul McCartney, Ringo Starr join Dolly Parton on ‘Let It Be’
Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr from the 1960s band, The Beatles, joined Dolly Parton in a version of their classic song “Let It Be” on her upcoming album.
The new version of the song was released on Friday and will be featured on the 77-year-old country legend upcoming album “Rockstar.”
“Well, does it get any better than singing ‘Let It Be’ with Paul McCartney who wrote the song?” Parton said on her website. “Not only that, he played piano!”
“Well, it did get even better when Ringo Starr joined in on drums, Peter Frampton on guitar and Mick Fleetwood playing percussion,” she said. “I mean, seriously, how much better does it get? Thanks guys!”
Parton’s upcoming album is her 49th and will be released on November 17.
According to Billboard, joining Parton on the album include are multiple artists like Elton John, Sting, Lizzo, Pink, Debbie Harry, Steve Perry, Steven Tyler, Stevie Nicks, Pat Benatar, Joan Jett, John Fogerty, Miley Cyrus and, Ann and Nancy Wilson.
McCartney, 81, and Starr, 83, are the last surviving members of the 60s iconic music band. They sang together in 2020 for a song on Starr’s album Zoom In.
Starr also made a surprise appearance in 2019 at a concert during McCartney’s tour stops.
