Pearl Group to build polyurethane plant in Egypt’s Ain Sokhna
Pearl Group, a global leader in polyurethane (PU) insulation solutions and other PU-based applications, signed on Wednesday an agreement with Suez Canal Economic Zone (SCZone) to establish a polyurethane production facility in Ain Sokhna industrial zone.
The plant will be situated on a 5,000-square-metre plot of land within the ready-made factories area developed by Egypt’s Main Development Company (MDC).
The project represents an investment of 100 million Egyptian pounds. It is scheduled to begin operations in the first quarter of 2025, with an annual production capacity of 20,000 tons of polyurethane.
“SCZONE offers diverse direct and indirect financial incentives, exemptions for exported goods, the export support programme, the strategic location and integration between industrial zones and seaports.” SCZONE Chairman Waleid Gamal El-Dien said in a statement.
“All these factors provide a favourable environment for investment for Pearl Group, especially since the company aims to reach the markets of African countries and Southern European countries.”
