Egypt’s Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly on Thursday inspected 15 new electric buses in Alexandria, accompanied by the investment, local development, health and housing ministers, as well as the governor of Alexandria Abdel-Aziz Konsowa.
The prime minister spent Thursday touring the Mediterranean city.
Konsowa said the buses were supplied by Chinese electric automaker BYD, and come with air conditioning, six CCTV cameras on board, and a GPS system.
The buses can also cater to people with special needs, the governor added.
The prime minister noted that the government is working on a mega-project to transform normal vehicles into hybrid ones that use both petrol and natural gas.
The localising of car manufacture is a government priority, he said.
The premier and the ministers also inspected development projects along the desert highway in Alexandria governorate.
