PM witnesses signing deal between Egyptian, Lebanese businessmen

Egypt’s Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouly witnessed the signing of four deals between a bunch of Egyptian and Lebanese businessmen in Beirut on Friday.

The event was held on the sidelines of a meeting of the Egyptian-Lebanese Business Council in Beirut, which was attended by the Egyptian ministers of electricity, petroleum, manpower, ICT, trade and industry, and Egypt’s ambassador to Lebanon, along with a number of Lebanese business executives and MPs.

The agreements, co-signed by the heads of the Egyptian and Lebanese sides at the Egyptian-Lebanese Business Council, Ahmed El-Sewedy and Rabea Hassouna, cover training Lebanese young people in the Egyptian private business sector, promoting Egyptian investments in the Tripoli Special Economic Zone in Lebanon, supporting business incubators and drawing up a plan of action to increase joint investments and cooperation opportunities, Egyptian cabinet spokesman Nader Saad said.

Addressing the gathering, Madbouli thanked the Lebanese government and people for the warm hospitality accorded to him and his accompanying delegation during his current visit.

He promised to remove any obstacles hindering efforts to bolster economic ties and expand bilateral cooperation, especially between the two countries’ private sectors.

Egyptian Trade and Industry Minister Amr Nassar said that an action plan will be outlined and timetables set to attain the targeted objectives, increase cooperation aspects and share expertise to serve mutual benefits especially in outside markets.
