Printing Industries Chamber, at the Federation of Egyptian Industries, decided to form a committee of the chamber’s members to represent the owners of printing houses who are aggrieved because of the dues of printing the school book, EGP 300 million. The committee will have a meeting with the minister of education to find solutions next week.
Khaled Abdo, Chairman of the board of the chamber, said the committee includes 6 members. They are Hatem Mahran, Amr Khedr, Mohamed AL Bousary, Ayman Atout and Ahmed Hosam Al Din. He referred that the committee will discuss all the problems of school book printing houses with the minister, to find a mechanism for spending the late dues as soon as possible.
The finance minister refused to meet one of the printing houses owners and insisted not to pay the dues, although this violates the tender law and unified tax law.
Ahmed Hossam El Din, deputy chairman to the chamber, on his part, referred that the dates which the minister fixed on mid-November of the supply orders will harm the printing houses; calling for fixing the dates on mid-December. This is to give enough time to printing houses owners to commit to delivering at the exact time.
The member of the board, Hatem Mahran, said changing the curriculum lead to deliver late and deducting financial dues from the printing houses.
